PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Single Bank Channel Elements are high-capacity resistance heating elements designed for post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) of large welded constructions such as steam drums, pressure vessels, and heavy structural fabrications. Engineered for efficient and uniform heat distribution, channel heaters provide a practical and powerful alternative to using multiple 60V ceramic heating pad elements. Designed for compatibility with standard 60V output 50kVA and 70kVA heat treatment machines, these elements offer reliable performance for large-scale industrial heat treatment applications.
Product description
Single Bank Channel Elements are specifically developed for industrial post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) of large and complex welded structures. Ideal for applications involving steam drums, pressure vessels, storage tanks, and heavy fabrications, these channel heaters provide consistent and controlled heating across extensive surface areas.
In large-scale heat treatment projects, using numerous 60V ceramic pad heaters can become inefficient and time-consuming. Single bank channel elements offer a more practical solution by delivering concentrated heating power through a structured channel design, reducing setup complexity while maintaining uniform temperature distribution.
These elements are powered and controlled via standard 60V output heat treatment machines, including 50kVA and 70kVA units. This compatibility ensures seamless integration into existing heat treatment systems, allowing precise temperature control when used with appropriate transformer power units and temperature programmers/controllers.
Channel elements are particularly well suited for furnace applications or situations where stable, high-capacity heating is required over larger areas. Their robust design and efficient heat transfer make them a preferred choice for demanding industrial environments such as oil & gas, petrochemical plants, power generation facilities, and heavy engineering workshops.
Product specifications
The supply voltages for single channels are 30V, 60V or 80V and
a range of multi-bank elements can be made up from single elements connected either in series or parallel. These elements are powered directly from the incoming 380V or 415V 3-Phase supply, via a 6-Way, 3-Phase Control trolley.
Channel elements can also be supplied utilising 60V or 80V supplies which can be powered and controlled via standard 60V and 80V output, 50kVA or 70kVA heat treatment machines.

Frequently asked questions
What are Single Bank Channel Elements used for?
Single Bank Channel Elements are used for post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) of large welded constructions such as steam drums, pressure vessels, tanks, and heavy fabrications. They are also suitable for furnace-based heat treatment applications.
How do channel heaters differ from ceramic heating pads?
Channel heaters are often more practical for large-scale applications because they provide concentrated, structured heating over larger areas, reducing the need for multiple 60V ceramic heating pads and simplifying setup.
What power units are compatible with Single Bank Channel Elements?
These elements are designed to operate with standard 60V output heat treatment machines, including 50kVA and 70kVA transformer power units, ensuring compatibility with common industrial heat treatment systems.
Why are Single Bank Channel Elements suitable for large components?
Their design allows efficient and uniform heat distribution across large welded structures, making them ideal for heavy industrial components where consistent temperature control and high-capacity heating are required.
