4 Bank Channel Elements

Four-bank channel element for post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) of large, welded constructions, including steam drums and vessels, or for use in furnaces

4-bank channel element for post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) of large, welded constructions by Cooperheat

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

4 Bank Channel Elements are high-capacity industrial resistance heating elements designed for post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) of large welded constructions such as steam drums, pressure vessels, and heavy fabrications. Manufactured using Nickel Chrome 60:16 core (or ICA135), these four-bank channel heaters provide efficient and uniform heat distribution for large surface areas. Commonly referred to as the “4-bank” channel element, they are widely used in heavy industrial heat treatment and furnace applications where high power output and controlled heating are essential.

Product description

The 4 Bank Channel Elements are engineered to deliver powerful and consistent heating performance for large-scale post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) projects. Constructed with a durable Nickel Chrome 60:16 core (or ICA135), these elements offer excellent thermal stability, durability, and long service life in demanding industrial environments.

Channel heaters are often more practical than deploying multiple 60V ceramic heating pad elements when treating large welded constructions such as steam drums, pressure vessels, and structural fabrications. The four-bank design enables structured and concentrated heat application across extensive areas, improving efficiency while reducing setup complexity.

These elements are typically powered directly from an incoming 380V or 415V three-phase supply via a 6-Way, 3-Phase Control Trolley, allowing high-output performance for heavy-duty heat treatment tasks. For applications requiring alternative power configurations, channel elements can also be supplied for use with 60V or 80V systems, compatible with standard 50kVA or 70kVA heat treatment machines.

Operating at 55A current, the 4 Bank Channel Element provides robust heating capability while maintaining reliable control when paired with appropriate temperature programmers and control systems. Its versatility and compatibility make it suitable for industries such as oil & gas, petrochemical, power generation, and heavy engineering.

Overall, 4 Bank Channel Elements deliver a powerful, efficient, and scalable heating solution for industrial PWHT and furnace operations where high-capacity thermal control is required.

Frequently asked questions

4 Bank Channel Elements are used for post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) of large welded constructions, including steam drums, pressure vessels, tanks, and heavy fabrications. They are also commonly used in industrial furnace heating applications.

These channel elements are manufactured using Nickel Chrome 60:16 core (or ICA135), providing high heat resistance, durability, and reliable thermal performance in demanding industrial environments.

They are typically powered directly from a 380V or 415V three-phase supply via a 6-Way, 3-Phase Control Trolley. Alternative configurations are available for 60V or 80V supplies powered through 50kVA or 70kVA heat treatment machines.

For large welded constructions, channel elements provide concentrated and structured heating across wider areas, reducing the need for numerous 60V ceramic pad heaters. This improves efficiency, simplifies setup, and delivers consistent temperature control during large-scale PWHT operations.
